Christmas Message - 2018

Image
Jesus, Mary and Joseph;Wishing you and your family a “Merry Christmas and Blessed & Healthy Happy New Year”.I thank the LORD for your faithful presence in our parish. The season of Christmas is the time for joy and sharing that joy with our family members, especially those who are sick, lonely, and elderly . God the Father sent us His only Son, Jesus Christ, to wipe the tears from every cheeks . Jesus manifested the true form of God on earth in compassion, love and generosity. As Pope Francis titled his book, “Name of God is Mercy”. After almost two years of pastoral ministry in mater dei parish, I have seen so many people living alone andwith family members who are too busy in their lives to reach out to the elderly. Love for the elderly must be nourished in our children and grand children. One who love God can not ignore their parents or grandparents, siblings or friends. St. John says: “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God…

Re: The Justinian “I”

The substance of this letter is just a pale attempt to present to you Fr. Justin seen as a psychologist. Unless there is an explicit reference to other sources, all the ideas of Fr. Justin are taken from the first and the second volume of Faciamus Hominem. I hope that one of our confreres, more capable in these matters, may be inspired to do a complete study of these. Some brief references to a particular psychologist or psychoanalyst were made in order to help us see Fr. Justin in line with his contemporaries and the prevalent ideas in his period. I do not intend to present to you a lesson in psychology.  I just would like to bring to you a warm invitation to discover another aspect of the thoughts and vision of Fr. Justin, to encourage you to understand the theology of psychology and of anthropology, and to facilitate a common journey towards holiness.
